Of course I have had a cheeky little listen myself and I really enjoyed it, such a beautiful song, the lyrics are really well written, the thought that came to my mind when I listened was that Christmas is never the same without the ones you love, having people around you is what Christmas is all about. This song puts across what I have always thought which is, what is the point in celebrating if you can't do it with the person or people you adore.
This song is free to download so what have you got to lose? I will post the links for the song at the bottom of my post.
I am glad that +WhiteMoor came forward and asked me to write about this because I really enjoyed their Horizons album, they are truly a talented band, lots of my friends now listen because of me and they all enjoy them too.
So enough of my rambling and a bit about the song and the band.
the North Wind is a live acoustic track which is accompanied by a live session video which you can watch online at MUZU.TV, it can also be watched on Http://youtu.be/q92hpSTmWTo.
Also to add to this blog post I have a quote directly from the band about the track:
''The North Wind is a very different song for us, it's a stripped back track that features a lot of live elements including strings, piano and acoustic guitar, as we normally record our material in a very different way the live video shoot was quite challenging but at the same time a lot of fun. We borrowed a cello player (Hannah Barrs) from a band we know called the Idolins and she was fantastic.
We decided to release this track because we have spent the majority of 2014 writing and recording our 3rd studio album, this has meant we haven't really been out playing shows so thought it would be nice to give something back to the people who follow us, the track was written by Barrington and his old writing partner Peter A Backler for inclusion on our new album but we felt it was a perfect release for Christmas instead.''
If you visit www.whitemoor.co.uk you can find a download link on there, if not it is available on YouTube as written above. Thanks for reading and I hope you take my advice and check this band out, they are in my top favourites.
