As you may know this blog used to be all about music, a recent change has happened where I have a wider interest in what I would like to write about. From now on this blog will just be known as 'NP Blog' rather than the 'NP Music Blog', don't panic though! I will still have the juicy bit of music world gossip for you all! Hope the change in my blogs content doesn't deter anyone from following my posts and reading, If anyone has any feedback it is more than welcome.

King Charles!
Not sure why it has taken me so long to write about King Charles, have a serious fan girl situation going on with him, you'll understand why once you give him a listen.
I first heard of King Charles in June 2014, this is through an old friend of mine, she asked me to his Newcastle gig at the Think Tank? I am so glad I went, listened to his Loveblood album all the way from Spennymoor to Newcastle on the bus, glad I did because I could have a sing a long when I got there.
I will stop rambling on about how great he is now and give you the basics and the links for his social networks so you can see for yourself!
You can follow this artist on multiple social sites:
Twitter: @KingCharlesUK

Corey Taylor Talks Slipknot Mask, Paul Grey and More With Larry King
Corey Taylor had an in depth interview with Larry King.
Corey spoke about Gene Simmons 'Rock is finally dead' claim. He said:
''I want it to show that our genre is still very much alive. Obviously, Gene Simmons is very famously quoted as saying, 'Rock n Roll is dead' I think he's got a point, but at the same time you have to use the new technology to your advantage, and I think we are going to show people that you can still use the technology and still have something in rock and roll.''
I totally agree with Corey, I wrote about this Gene Simmons claim not too long ago and agreed rock is far from dead.
Slipknot UK Tour Dates:

16: Sheffield Motor point Arena
18: Glasgow SSE Hydro

Rob Zombie will be joining Saturdays headliners Within Temptation, Opeth, Death TA, Nuclear Assault, Cannibal Corpse, Ihsahn, Sepultura and Dark Angel.
36 Crazyfists Announce New Album, Time and Trauma
The four piece Alaskan band are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year.
Brock Lindow says:
''We have found a new home at Spinefarm Records, and although the label is new to us, some of the staff are old friends and we couldn't be more grateful to unleash the beast that is Time and Trauma with their help. 20 years in and it feels like Spinefarm is a killer hone to hang our hats. See you all in 2015!''
So there you have it, Time and Trauma is to be released though Spinefarm Records in February 2015.
Former Static X Bassist Reacts To Wayne Static's Death
Tony has posted a statement online following Wayne Static's death.
On November 1st it was announced that founding Static X member has passed away at the age of 48!
Tony says:
''I'm having a hard time finding the words to express how I feel right now, and it's taken me a long time to even try to write something. I knew Wayne for 15 years. Some of the best times of my life were with him. I considered hum a good friend. It's sad, the way our friendship ended, but even more sad that we never got to settle things between us.
Even though we were no longer friends the last five years, I held on to the sliver of hope that my old friend would come back. We were like family; Kiochi Fukuda, Nick Oshiro, Erik Fincher, Bruce Reiter, Brandon Jensen; we all just wanted our old friend back. Sadly, that will never happen.
I feel horrible for his parents and hid brothers and sisters. I can't even begin to imagine what they must be going through. My deepest condolences go out to them. All we can do now, is remember the good times we shared. Rest in peace Wayne.''
Following Wayne's death Drowning Pool posted:
''We are totally in shock and devastated by the loss of our good friend Wayne of Static X. Can't believe we lost another great rock Hero. Our hearts go out to Wayne's family and friends. We were so looking forward to touring together in the UK in January. Can't believe you're gone brother. Never easy loosing a friend. Sleep well...''

Blitz Kids Are Joining Taking Back Sunday Tour
It has happened! Blitz Kids are going to be joining Taking Back Sunday on their December headlining tour.
The band will be swapping main support with Marmozets throughout the tour.
Joe (Frontman) Says:
“It’s an honour to be asked to tour alongside a band who basically soundtracked the majority of my teenage years. Taking Back Sunday have been a huge influence on us as musicians and Louder Now will always be one of my favourite albums. It’s the perfect end to what has been an incredible year for our band. We also get to hang with our besties Marmozets which is going to be dangerous to say the least. Plus we’ve been writing some new material since our last headline tour so there could be a few surprises in the set!”
Dates:
7 December 2014 - Portsmouth Pyramids
8 December 2014 - Bristol O2 Academy
9 December 2014 - London Camden Roundhouse
11 December 2014 - Birmingham Institute
12 December 2014 - Manchester Ritz
13 December 2014 - Glasgow O2 ABC
14 December 2014 - Oxford O2 Academy
Alestorm Leeds!
What an amazing gig this was! So glad I was asked to go otherwise I would have missed an awesome night!
Alestorm hit Leeds University on October 25th with their Piratefest with support from Lagerstein, Red Rum and Raibow Dragon Eyes!
Each band had the crowd going mad. we had beer chugging, mosh pits and a lot of bad ass pirates, couldn't have asked for a better gig.
This was a new experience for me, I have never seen any of these bands before Friday night and I can tell you now I have massively been missing out! To me pirate rock is really similar to Irish rock, probably why I loved it so much, took me back home a little.
If you haven't seen any of these bands before I highly recommend that you do, I mean if they can make a newbie who haven't heard of any of them before love them I am sure they can win anyone over! Think I will have to get myself to another one of their gigs!
Sad News!
So... A little bit of bad news for this week. I found this out a while ago now but I have had to keep my mouth shut about it until the official announcement... The decision has been made by Black Nevada to kick Cameron Dunn out of the band. It is a massive kick in the teeth for the fans of the band.
Cameron is a close friend of mine so for this to happen is a total shock! Never in the world did I expect him to be the one to go. It really is sad as the band are like a little family.
There will be auditions for a new drummer at the Merry Monk this Sunday, in my eyes they wont find anyone even close to replacing Cameron, anyways, if you would like to audition then I will post the details below!
Sunday 2nd November 2014
The Merry Monk
The band have asked that you send them a message on Facebook to give you an allotted time to turn up. Good Luck to anyone trying out, just make sure you don't have a job, it could back fire into getting you kicked out...

Black Nevada, Merry Monk Gig Review
Following on from yesterday's post of the gigs details I bring the news!
As usual the band were amazing, minus a few hiccups such as strings snapping etc. Even with the issues they still provided an amazing performance. It will take a lot more to stop this lot!
Not as many people showed up as expected which is a real shame, everyone really missed out, such a good venue and the music was on top form.
For those of you who missed the gig, the band are playing again tomorrow for Durhams Oxjam, all the details can be found on Facebook! If not I will post them tomorrow (if I remember that is).
Hopefully you guys go to this, it's a band you shouldn't miss out on!

Black Nevada play The Merry Monk
So last minute gig right here! Black Nevada are going to be playing at The Merry Monk in Bishop Auckland tonight due to cancellation.
The doors will be open from 7pm, really recommend you go to this gig, it takes place in an awesome venue which I always enjoy going to! Guaranteed a good night! Black Nevada are unreal as far as my opinion goes, but, I don't think you should just take my word for it, get yourselves there and see how amazing they are first hand!
All people attending that are under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult over the age of 25 (ID may be needed)!
This event is free entry, don't think that anymore needs to be said to get you there!
See everyone at 7pm!
